Liverpool are well-positioned to sign a very highly-rated player on the content.
The Reds are yet to make a signing this summer but with the new Premier League season fast approaching, business is expected to ramp up.
Arne Slot will certainly need time to make his own imprint on the squad and it’s thought he’s keen on a goalkeeper.
Allison Becker’s future is far from certain and with that said, Liverpool are now one of the frontrunners to sign a top-level shot-stopper in Europe.

Liverpool interested in Giorgi Mamardashvili
According to Deportes COPE Valencia, Liverpool are leading the Premier League interest for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who has been labelled ‘world class’ per The Peoples Person.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a phenomenal Euro 2024 campaign with Georgia this summer and his performances have evidently put The Reds on red alert.
Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in Mamardashvili this summer but it’s now Liverpool who are really pushing to land his signature.
La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are also considering a move but it remains to be seen if they can outlay £35m whilst they work on a mega-money deal for Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez.
Liverpool should invest in defensive midfielder instead
The Reds aren’t in need of a goalkeeper and even if Allison does leave, Caoimhin Kelleher is well-equipped to make the step up.
So instead of spending a substantial amount on Mamardashvili, they should allocate those funds towards a defensive midfielder – which is a key area which needs strengthening.
Adam Wharton would be the dream signing but that’s unlikely this summer, so perhaps they’ll formalise their interest in Atalanta’s Ederson with a bid.
