Amid a lack of transfer activity at Anfield this summer, Liverpool have just agreed to sell one of their most promising young players to Brentford for around £20m.
The Reds have had a quiet window when it comes to incomings and have yet to make a new signing for Arne Slot.
However, it looks like things are moving in terms of outgoings and Liverpool have now agreed to sell one of their young midfielders, Fabio Carvalho, to Brentford.
Liverpool agree to sell Fabio Carvalho to Brentford
According to Fabrizio Romano, who has taken to his X account to break the news, Liverpool are selling Carvalho to Brentford for around £20m.
The deal will see a medical take place soon and Liverpool pocket £20m and more in add-ons from the Bees.
The deal will also be a permanent one.
Carvalho was expected to feature this season for the Reds after apparently impressing Arne Slot over on the pre-season tour.
However, it now looks like a decision has been made and the former Fulham man will sign for Brentford.
Rumours around Carvalho’s future have been swirling for the last few weeks now but the midfielder looks set to get a Premier League move out of nowhere.

Good business for Liverpool
Liverpool didn’t have to shell out much for Carvalho when they landed him at the end of his Fulham contract so this is good business.
The Reds have always been good at getting value for money on their players and this suggests that Arne Slot has decided Carvalho will not be part of his plans.
For the player himself, this is a huge chance to go out and prove himself at the top level.
Everyone saw at Fulham how good he can be but it hasn’t quite happened for him since the move to Anfield.
Lauded by fellow Reds youngster Tyler Morton as a ‘special‘ talent, Carvalho is likely to want to impress under Thomas Frank and prove he can do the business at Premier League level.
