The latest winger to be linked with a move to Anfield appears in the Mirror today as the star man of Bundesliga’s surprise outfit Red Bull Leipzig is linked, Emil Forsberg. The 25-year-old has scored five and got nine assists in 15 league games this season and the Reds could now launch a £20 million bid.

The Swede could be brought in to provide cover and an alternative for the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane.

One man already fulfilling the role of providing cover is 23-year-old Kevin Stewart, who the Liverpool Echo claim will not be sold despite interest from five clubs from the Premier League and Championship. It is reported that loan moves and a £6 million bid have been made in the last few months, but Klopp sees him as a valuable option in midfield.

Stewart would only be sold for a fee in the region of £10 million to £12 million, with Klopp even reluctant to do so then, and the Tottenham trainee is expected to start at Anfield against Plymouth in the FA Cup this weekend.

Another man on the outskirts of the first team is youngster Pedro Chirivella, and the Liverpool Echo report that he will head to the Netherlands to join Go Ahead Eagles on loan to boost his chances of first team football. The 19-year-old midfielder made five first team appearances last season but is yet to feature the campaign.

The former Valencia man is promising and is expected to go on to big things but will experience regular first team football for the first time in Holland by going out on loan, which is sure to aid his development and help him to push on to the Liverpool first team.
