There’s hope yet for West Ham

After weeks of performances described as gutless, pathetic and lacking desire, this West Ham display was almost unrecognisable compared to the ones we have become accustomed to of late, with real fight and determination on show as Slaven Bilic’s team held out for a draw.

Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang did everything that they failed to do against Arsenal in their 5-1 thrashing last weekend and provided their defence with sufficient protection to stop the Liverpool attack from finding a winner, even if they weren’t quite on their best form.

The result is a massive bonus for Bilic, who was expected to be defeated as he prepares to fight for his job in the upcoming games against other sides in the bottom half of the league. Now, they have climbed out of the relegation zone and can go into those fixtures full of belief and confidence.
