Loris Karius is a lucky man
Few managers would stand by a player who could be held responsible for a last minute defeat, and even fewer would stand by him when he is again caught out in two goals in the next game, yet it seems that Jurgen Klopp will remain patient with his £4 million summer signing.
Whilst his wall should have done a better job to protect him from Dimitri Payet’s free-kick, his positioning was poor and when he did get a hand to the shot, he failed to get the strength behind it to push the ball away and instead conceded an equaliser. Once again before half time, his defence put him in a tough situation when Joel Matip was beaten by a deflected pass, and Karius was left in no man’s land. Failing to make his presence large, Antonio rounded him to put his side in the lead.
With two out of three shots on target finding the net, things aren’t looking good for the German, particularly with a more than capable Simon Mignolet watching on from the bench.
