Highly-rated teen Ki-Jana Hoever has told Liverpool’s official website that he is desperate to play for the Reds in the next round of the Carabao Cup against Arsenal, after scoring against MK Dons.
Netherlands Under-18 international Hoever made his debut for Liverpool last season in the FA Cup against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and was handed his second outing by Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday night.
Hoever got on the end of James Milner’s cross to make it 2-0 away from home, after Milner had given Liverpool the lad. The scoreline remained the same, comfortably pushing Liverpool into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
In an intriguing draw for the fourth round, Liverpool face Arsenal while Chelsea take on Manchester United and Aston Villa were drawn against rivals Wolves. Hoever is desperate to face Arsenal on October 28, in the fourth round.
“You hope the manager starts you in the next game again and gives you minutes,” 17-year-old Hoever said. “That’s what you are hoping for the next game.”

TBR’s view – Will Klopp chance Hoever, or go more experienced?
With just 16 teams remaining in the competition, the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal will fancy that they have a chance of winning the competition and it might tempt Klopp into starting his more experienced stars.
Hoever, though, deserves a go. In his two appearances for Liverpool’s senior side, he has been excellent. With Trent Alexander-Arnold having no direct competition or cover at right-back – Joe Gomez is a centre-back – Hoever needs to be tested.
He needs to be given the chance to show why he can be Alexander-Arnold’s cover. A clash against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup is the perfect opportunity.
