‘Little bit of fun’: Heung-Min Son now shares what James Maddison said to him after Tottenham v Leicester game

Tottenham Hotspur winger Heung-Min Son has been speaking to the club’s official website and has shared what James Maddison said to him after the Leicester City game yesterday.

Son got off the mark for the season in brilliant style as he bagged a hat-trick from the bench.

The 30-year-old was named amongst the substitutes but made a huge impact when he came on in the 59th minute.

The South Korean scored two trademark Son goals from the edge of the box and a well-taken finish after he was played through by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Son has now scored three excellent goals against the Foxes with his weaker foot and has revealed that Maddison has picked up on this.

Son shares what Maddison said to him

Speaking to Spurs Play after the 6-2 win over Leicester, Son shared what Maddison said to him after the game

“I saw Maddison and he said ‘you’re right-footed and you always score the same goal with your left-foot’,” Son said.

“We were making a little bit of fun but in this position I like to shoot with both feet because I practise a lot.

“I practice so much for this position and I’m pretty sure if I have a chance then I feel I just need a little bit of space to shoot from there, I’m really confident to score.”

Maddison also scored a brilliant goal himself yesterday to level the game up at 2-2. But Son completely changed the course of the game when he was introduced.

Son was struggling to find the back of the net this season but he seemed to have a point to prove after he was dropped by Antonio Conte yesterday.

The Spurs winger only played for just over half an hour but took the match ball home after a dazzling display.

Maddison clearly remembers the other left-footed goals that Son has scored against his team in the past.

One came in the same fixture last season and the other was at the King Power Stadium back in the 2018-19 campaign.

Conte will be delighted to see Son back amongst the goals and will hope that this will kickstart the player’s season.
