Many Liverpool fans have been reacting on social media after Le Parisien reported that Paris Saint-Germain are eying Mohamed Salah as a potential Kylian Mbappe replacement.

Mbappe is steadfast on his desires to leave Le Parc des Princes this summer and is yet to hold discussions with the Ligue 1 giants over a new contract, with his current terms set to expire next year.

Salah is considered to be Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s ideal replacement for the France international, and have been boosted in their interest with the Egyptian keen to leave Anfield at the end of the season.

PSG’s Director of Football Leonardo and President Nasser Al-Khelaifi have long viewed Salah as a major target who can reinforce the offensive line in Paris, and are set to discuss his availability with Liverpool warming to a potential transfer.

The Reds feel Jurgen Klopp’s project has hit rock bottom after a disastrous title defence risks the Merseyside outfit missing out on Champions League football, and previously untransferable players may be put up for grabs for Europe’s elite.

Salah, who has two years remaining on his £200,000-per-week (Spotrac) contract, has been at Liverpool since 2017 and has offered 123 goals and 45 assists in 198 appearances across all competitions to date.
