A player linked with Liverpool and Manchester United has made Lionel Messi’s list of the 15 top youngsters in world football.
According to The Mirror, the Red Devils are “desperate to break the bank” for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
The Daily Mail, meanwhile, claimed in February that Liverpool had informed the Bundesliga club of their desire to sign the 20-year-old this summer.

Both United and Liverpool remain heavily linked with the England prodigy, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol suggesting on the Transfer Talk podcast – via The Express – that the Red Devils are “favourites” for his signature while Liverpool “have a really good chance of signing him as well”.
It’s little surprise that Sancho is so in demand, given his impressive stats so far – in 90 competitive Dortmund games, he has registered 31 goals and 42 assists.
With a reported £120million price tag (The Mirror), Sancho wouldn’t come cheap, but if his stats weren’t enough to convince suitors of his talents and potential, he now has the Messi seal of approval.
Messi has been asked to name 15 “youth on the rise” players for Topps Champions League cards and Sancho made the cut.
“His ability to dribble past defenders is impressive,” wrote Messi, as quoted by Give Me Sport.
TBR View:
One of the hottest properties in world football, Sancho is a player of undoubtable talent who would instantly bolster any squad and become a superb asset.
Liverpool boast quality throughout the pitch, have a world-class coach in Jurgen Klopp and proven trophy-winning credentials, all factors which are sure to appeal to Sancho.
While Manchester United may have stuttered in recent years, Sancho could well see the team built around him and, in time, the Red Devils could rise back to the highest levels.
