Barcelona are apparently struggling to attract solid interest in Philippe Coutinho, as the Catalan club continue to look to move the Brazilian midfielder on this summer.
A number of Premier League clubs have shown an interest, according to reports. Those clubs include the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle, and Arsenal.

However, reports from Marca this weekend suggest nobody has actually made a move for Coutinho. Indeed, the situation is apparently looking increasingly desperate for Barca, who are looking to raise funds this summer.
But rather than holding out and seeking a potential bargain, are the likes of Newcastle and Spurs doing themselves a favour by not actually moving for the former Liverpool man?
It certainly looks that way given this latest update.
Something not quite right with Coutinho
It’s so easy to forget that Philippe Coutinho was a player who looked every bit world-class during his spell with Liverpool.
Goals, assists, match-winning moments, the Brazilian has everything in his locker. But since moving to Spain, things just haven’t clicked for one reason or another. Furthermore, Bayern Munich have opted against a permanent move.
That in itself is a tell-tale sign that something might not be quite right with Coutinho. The 28-year-old is seemingly being pushed out of the door but, for some reason, there are no takers.

It could be, then, that rather than splashing out mega-money and lots of wages, that Spurs, Newcastle, Arsenal, and recently linked Chelsea, all save themselves some hassle when it comes to Coutinho.
Sometimes a player just peaks early in their career. There is, of course, nothing wrong with that. The Premier League may have already seen the best of the midfield magician.
That’s something Barca might have to accept and could mean we see Coutinho drift into the wilderness somewhat.
