Linked to Arsenal, Ezri Konsa told to learn ‘damn quick, by his own manager

This week has seen Arsenal linked with a move for Brentford defender Ezri Konsa. As reported by The Sun, the Gunners are keen on the former Charlton defender. He would cost them around £15 million after impressing scouts on England under-21 duty.

Whilst he is an undoubted talent, Arsenal fans may want to hear what his own manager said of him last night.

It came after Brentford lost 3-2 at home to Sheffield United. The Bees put in a poor defensive display against the Blades, with Konsa and Chris Mepham failing to contain the United attack.

“They will both be excellent Premier League players but right now they are making mistakes and they need to learn damn quick.”

– Thomas Frank on the performance of Konsa and Mepham

Konsa even managed to score an own goal in the 10th minute of the game.

It continues a recent run of poor form for the Arsenal target. Brentford have lost six of their last seven games and Konsa’s struggles at the back make him a key reason for their dip in form.

It certainly appears that Frank is struggling to get the same out of him as Dean Smith did prior to his Aston Villa switch.

There is no doubt that the 20-year-old is a potential future star but his displays in recent weeks must have Arsenal asking questions regarding a move.

Perhaps January will be too soon to make a swoop.
