Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.
According to Lille president Gerard Lopez (via The Sun), new Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is a fan of Soumare. He could convince Spurs to move for the midfielder, who is rated at £50m by Lille.
Soumare has been a star performer in Lille’s midfield this season. The 20-year-old has played 22 games, including all six in the Champions League. He is rated as one of the finest young box-to-box midfielders in Europe.
It seems that Tottenham could move for Soumare in January. But Manchester United are also keen, as per this report by The Sun. And Lopez has added that there are other offers from abroad.
Lopez confirms Soumare interest
As reported by The Sun, Lopez said: “It is true that there is a lot of interest from Spain, from Italy. The interest of Jose Mourinho? I know he likes him very much, yes. There are five or six clubs that are interested in him so we will see.”
Soumare is a dominant youngster who could become one of the best midfield powerhouses in Europe. He is exactly the type of player that Tottenham should be looking at; young, hungry and with the potential to reach the top of the game.
The France U21 starlet boasts youth and experience with over 60 senior games under his belt already. He could form a deadly partnership with Tanguy Ndombele in the Spurs midfield.
