Some Arsenal fans have welcomed speculation claiming the Gunners are in negotiations over Ruben Neves.
Portuguese outlet Record made the claim on Saturday, though Arsenal and Neves have been linked for a few weeks now.
Gianluca Di Marzio claimed earlier this week that Neves is Arsenal’s first choice to replace Granit Xhaka.
Roma are apparently waiting for the Gunners to sign a midfielder before moving for the Switzerland star.

Although Arsenal are reportedly closing in on Albert Sambi Lokonga, Neves continues to be linked with the Gunners.
Record claims that Bruno Lage isn’t eager to part company with Neves, so Arsenal will have to present a large offer.
The Telegraph reported in June that Wolves want at least £40million for the 24-year-old.
Talk of Arsenal apparently targeting Neves has split the fanbase somewhat.
However, some supporters don’t see why the 24-year-old would be a bad signing.
Neves joined Wolves from Porto in 2017 and helped the club to promotion from the Championship into the Premier League.
He has clocked up 176 appearances in old gold, registering 20 goals and 10 assists.
