Tottenham Hotspur fans are generally behind the idea of a move for Sam Johnstone.
On the radar
The Athletic say that Johnstone is on Tottenham’s radar this summer, as they weigh up a potential move for the West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper.
Spurs would apparently like to sign him as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris, who is reaching the twilight of his career now.
And Tottenham fans feel that Johnstone could make a good addition to their squad.
Lloris replacement?
Johnstone was actually relegated with West Brom last term, but his own showings were very impressive.
Indeed Glenn Hoddle has backed the idea of Johnstone moving to Tottenham before, on his own podcast.
Lloris’ own form for Spurs, on the main, was good last season – but there were times were he experienced dips.
Johnstone was one of the most overworked keepers in the Premier League, but he was always solid.
And his form led to him being part of England’s squad for Euro 2020, although he didn’t make an appearance.
