‘Like prime Rio’: Leeds fans laud Kalvin Phillips on Twitter after Burnley performance

Leeds ground out a hard-fought 1-0 win over Burnley this afternoon as they continued their good first third of the season with a festive victory.

Patrick Bamford’s early penalty was enough for Marcelo Bielsa’s men to take the three points and move up the table.

Burnley, as expected, made things difficult for Leeds, especially in the second period. However, Bielsa’s men, led admirably from the middle by Kalvin Phillips, were resilient and hung on to see out the game.

And it was the performance of Phillips that caught the eye on Twitter, as plenty of Leeds fans took time out to praise the England midfielder for his fine display in midfield then deeper in the second period.
