'Like a Poch appointment': Some Tottenham fans think 45-year-old would be amazing for Spurs

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have given their thoughts on reported Spurs target Graham Potter after his team shocked the Premier League champions on Tuesday night.

Tottenham are currently searching for a new permanent manager in wake of Jose Mourinho’s sacking last month, and the Brighton boss has been linked with the role.

According to a Daily Mail report from earlier this month, Spurs chief scout Steve Hitchen has Potter on his shortlist, while there are others at the club who rate him highly too.

The 45-year-old made a name for himself at Ostersund, steering the Swedish club from the fourth tier to the top flight, the Swedish Cup and a Europa League run.

Potter then joined Swansea in 2019 but within the space of a year he made the step up to the Premier League by taking the Brighton reins.

He has kept the south coast club punching above their weight and has comfortably secured another season of top-flight football, playing great football along the way.

And on Tuesday night, Potter gave the returning Brighton fans an especially outstanding performance as Manchester City were beaten 3-2 at the Amex Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s charges took the lead after just two minutes through Ilkay Gundogan, but found themselves a man down when Joao Cancelo was sent off.

Although Phil Foden doubled his side’s advantage early in the second half, Brighton mounted a superb comeback through Leandro Trossard, Adam Webster and Dan Burn goals.

Some Spurs supporters loved what they saw from Potter, praising his efforts on social media and tipping him to be a success if he joined Tottenham:
