Andriy Yarmolenko won’t be available to make his return on the final day of the Premier League season, but some fans on Twitter are optimistic about his return for the next campaign.
The Hammers signed the attacker last summer and he impressed during the opening months of the campaign, with a couple of goals in his first 10 appearances.
But the Ukraine international has unfortunately been sidelined since October after underdog Achilles surgery.
Ahead of the weekend’s game away to Watford, manager Manuel Pellegrini has updated that Yarmolenko is back training with the squad.
But the 29-year-old winger won’t be ready to play and will continue his recovery over pre-season.
“Yarmolenko is working with the squad, 100%, but he is not ready to play,” Pellegrini said, as quoted by the club’s official website.

Yarmolenko is a left-footed wide man that has proven himself as a goal threat for Dynamo Kiev and was beginning to adapt well to English football before his injury setback.
The right-winger should be delighted to hear fans haven’t forgotten about him, as they are confident he’s got a key role at the London Stadium next season.
West Ham will continue without him on the last day of the season against Watford, where a win would see them leapfrog their opponents to give them a top-10 finish during Pellegrini’s first year in charge.
