Leeds United have made a blistering start to the 2019/20 campaign and currently sit top of the league after five matches. The Whites have claimed four wins and a draw from their opening fixtures and early promotion signs are positive.
It’s not really surprising to see Marcelo Bielsa’s men race out of the blocks. The Whites are traditionally good starters to the campaign; the challenge this season will be to maintain their consistency beyond Christmas.

One man who was an integral part of Leeds’ run to the play-offs last season was captain Liam Cooper. He has continued his fine form into this season playing four of the club’s five matches.
The 28-year-old was rewarded for his continued hard work earlier today when Scotland boss Steve Clarke named in his squad for upcoming Euro 2020 qualifying games against Russia and Belgium.
It is the first time that the central defender has been selected to play for Scotland, although he has represented them at various youth levels.

Following his timely international recognition, Leeds supporters have taken to Twitter to speak of their delight for their captain.
Here is a selection of tweet from the club’s supporters after Cooper was named in the Scotland squad for the very first time:
