Liam Cooper lauds Nathan Patterson after Rangers beat Real Madrid
Liam Cooper has lauded Nathan Patterson on Instagram after the Rangers starlet posted an image of himself duelling with Marcelo during the Gers’ outstanding win at Ibrox over the weekend.
Steven Gerrard’s side rounded off pre-season with a superb victory over Real Madrid.
Fashion Sakala and Cedric Itten won the game for the Gers after Rodrygo had initially put Los Blancos in front.
Unsurprisingly, a number of Rangers players were hugely impressive. Stephen Kelly has staked a claim to be the youngster to look out for this season.
But of course, his main competition will be Patterson. The right-back was superb after coming on against Real.
The 19-year-old did not look out of place at any stage in the win. He danced past some of the opposition at times. Meanwhile, he was composed when finding a teammate with a pass.
Patterson seriously impressive as Rangers beat Real Madrid
There was one moment when he gained a yard of space on Marcelo by performing a Cruyff turn on the edge of the final third Rangers were defending.
And following the game, Patterson took to Instagram to comment on the win and the recent return of supporters inside Ibrox…
And amongst those to reply was Cooper. The defender was involved in the Scotland squad with Patterson at Euro 2020. And he praised the teenager for his performance in the duel with Marcelo…
