Kai Havertz has really started to find his feet at Arsenal.
The former Chelsea man is in a rich vein of goalscoring form, and he looks to really be setting in at the Emirates now.
Havertz has proven a lot of people wrong over the past few weeks, and one of those is Arsenal legend, Liam Brady.
Indeed, speaking on The Stand with Eamon Dunphy, Brady has been discussing Havertz and his arrival at Arsenal in the summer, and he says that initially he didn’t understand why the Gunners had signed the German, claiming that he was scratching his head after this signing was announced.

Liam Brady didn’t understand Kai Havertz signing
The pundit spoke about Havertz.
“He has eight Premier League goals to his name which is decent for a midfield player, and I think he will get a few more before the end of the season. He was very indifferent to begin with, I was scratching my head and other Arsenal supporters were saying did we spend our money wisely getting him from Chelsea, but he’s settled in well now and he’s making a real contribution,” Brady said.
Seemed strange
Brady isn’t alone in being baffled by the Havertz signing at the time.
In all honesty, we couldn’t quite get our heads around why Arsenal spent £65m on the German at the time.
Yes, he’s in good form now, but let’s not forget, he’d had a number of underwhelming seasons at Chelsea before joining Arsenal, while he didn’t have a set position and didn’t appear to fit into Mikel Arteat’s system.
Somehow, Arteta has made this work with Havertz now playing as a bit of a detached striker at the moment, but it did take the Arsenal manager quite some time to find the key to unlock Havertz.
This did seem like a strange signing at the time, but it could turn out to be a bit of a masterstroke.
