Lewandowski reacts as Thiago confirms Bayern depature, amid reported Liverpool move
Robert Lewandowski has posted a heartfelt message on Twitter after Thiago Alcantara confirmed he would be leaving Bayern Munich with reports stating that he is imminently set to be confirmed as a new Liverpool player.
Thiago, 29, is set to complete a move to Liverpool in the region of £20million up front – with £5million in add-ons. The Italy-born Spain international has entered the final 12 months of his Bayern contract, which explains the bargain price tag.
The former Barcelona man has spent seven years at Bayern Munich, winning 16 trophies in total – seven of which were Bundesliga titles. Lewandowski and Thiago formed a crucial core of the Bayern side for six years, since the Pole joined in 2014.
Now, that core is set to be broken up as Thiago heads to the Premier League with champions Liverpool and to play under Jurgen Klopp – who is held in such high esteem in Germany. Thiago confirmed his departure on Twitter.

Thiago will become Liverpool’s second signing of the summer after left-back Konstantinos Tsimikas, and reports claim he will wear the number six shirt – previously vacated by Dejan Lovren following the Croatiam’s move to Zenit St. Petersburg.
Lewandowski responded to Thiago’s post on Twitter by thanking his Bayern teammate, labelling Thiago a “magician” with confirmation of his move to Anfield expected in due course – according to Sky Sports.
It was a pleasure to play with such a Magician like you⚽🎩Gracias Amigo🤜🤛 @Thiago6 https://t.co/H0NKqGZY19
