'Levy is in love with him': Romano says Tottenham chairman could not be happier with one Spurs player
The transfer insider spoke about the Spurs star on Que Golazo! after being asked about the player’s future at N17.
Son has been sensational for the vast majority of his time at Tottenham, which began back in 2015.
The 30-year-old has been very consistent in terms of goals and overall play since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen.
This was until earlier this season, when Son found himself amid a goal drought.
However, he burst back into form in Tottenham’s last Premier League game, the 6-2 win over Leicester City.
Son came off the bench to score a second-half hat-trick.
The South Korea star then took his form into the international break.
Son scored a goal in both friendlies this month, against Costa Rica and Cameroon.
Now, with the North London derby looming, everyone at Tottenham will hope for more of the same.
Son has also had to deal with very little transfer speculation for much of his time at Spurs.
Just recently, a report came out linking him with Juventus.
And even then, the report claimed Antonio Conte could try to bring Son with him if he returned to Turin.
Earlier this week, Romano appeared on Que Golazo!
Host Ian Paul Joy asked him whether any Tottenham players – such as Son – were possibly thinking of leaving.
Romano replied: “No. Honestly, with Son, he was never close to leaving this summer and for one reason.
“Daniel Levy is in love with him, Conte is in love with him and Fabio Paratici is in love with him.
“And he (Son) loves Tottenham, he loves the club, he loves the city, he loves the team.
“And so Son is not desperate to leave and Tottenham are super happy with him.
“So at the moment it’s a perfect situation between Son and Tottenham.”
Son is a Tottenham legend – TBR View
Great to hear Romano say that everything’s perfect between Son and Spurs.
He really has been an incredible servant to the club, in terms of goals, work-rate and attitude.
It’s rare for top players to just ply their trade at a club without some transfer drama doing the rounds.
There’s a good chance Son will continue to play for Tottenham until he retires.
Hopefully that won’t be for a while yet, but nonetheless, his status as a Spurs legend is assured.
