'Levy is a genius': Tottenham fans react to reports of Nuno Santo contract clause
Tottenham fans have been giving their thoughts today as a report emerged from The Athletic suggesting Nuno Espirito Santo could be sacked for nothing next summer.
The Athletic report that Daniel Levy managed to get a clause in the contract for Santo which allowed him to sack the Portuguese manager if Tottenham don’t make it into the top six this season.
It means that Santo is obviously under pressure to deliver that result, while it also gives Levy wriggle room as well to bring someone else in if the top six does evade Spurs.
The news comes just a day after Tottenham headed into the international break with a good feeling. Santo’s side saw off Aston Villa yesterday to put to bed what was a miserable September for the club.
Naturally, Spurs fans have been discussing the reports on social media, with Twitter awash with comments on the matter. And the overriding consensus is that Levy may already be thinking beyond Nuno.
Here, then, is what some Tottenham fans had to say on the matter.
Levy is a genius

This says a lot to me –
Levy would consider this a ‘strong’ position, but it’s purely financial.
A strong *footballing* position would be investing in a top manager and backing him – with hardly any consideration given to ‘get out’ clauses. Hardly inspires confidence!
