Former Manchester City defender feels that not a single player in Liverpool’s squad would get into Pep Guardiola’s side right now, as per Sporting Bet.
The Reds are battling the Premier League holders for this season’s title and with just two points between the sides, it couldn’t be much closer at the top.
But Lescott feels that the disparity in quality between the two is underlined by the fact that Guardiola wouldn’t leave out any of his current crop in favour of a replacement from Liverpool.
The 36-year-old said: “Guardiola and Klopp will be happy with their players. I’m not sure I’d take a single one of Liverpool’s players for Manchester City’s team.”

It’s tough to see that Guardiola wouldn’t want Virgil van Dijk or Mo Salah in his side during the run-in and Lescott appears to have let his club loyalties cloud his view somewhat here.
The reason Liverpool have got so close to City this season and closed what was an enormous gap last season is that they have invested so wisely on players and brought about improvement in the ones Klopp already had.
City do have the better squad – especially in terms of depth – but to say that not a single Reds player would improve Guardiola’s first eleven is not the case.
