Casemiro continued his fine run of form with a goal for Manchester United against Nottingham Forest.

The Brazilian has come under scrutiny at Man Utd on the back of his big-money move from Real Madrid.

But Michael Carrick has praised Casemiro for his recent displays, which continued against Sean Dyche’s side on Saturday.

Man Utd were looking to make it four wins in a row under Ruben Amorim, and they got off to a perfect start.

Ruben Amorim change at Man Utd is great for Casemiro

The Red Devils dominated possession in the opening 45 minutes at the City Ground and were eventually rewarded in the 34th minute.

After scoring and assisting against Brighton last weekend, Casemiro added to his tally with another goal in the first half on Saturday.

Prior to the fixture, former Everton midfielder Leon Osman was speaking about United on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Osman explained how United’s wide additions and the organisation we are seeing from Amorim’s men this season are benefiting the South American.

He said: “I think Manchester United have strengthened in the middle of the pitch. I think we went through such a long period, didn’t we, where we felt Manchester United’s two midfielders couldn’t cover their distance, that there was too much ground to get by.

“Opposition midfielders, the likes of [Elliott] Anderson, could run all over somebody like Casemiro, who is ageing in that role.

“But United have sort of brought in the wide men, the distances are better. Casemiro is now having to only operate in 15-yard bursts, rather than 25-yard bursts.

“So, I think one of the reasons he is looking so good. I think the organisation of Manchester United has helped him in the last few weeks.”

Ruben Amorim knows Casemiro is so important to Manchester United

It’s no coincidence that the Manchester outfit’s form coincides with Casemiro finally looking back to his best after a couple of poor years.

Amorim commented on Casemiro recently, explaining the four qualities he brings to the team.

He said: “I think he gives a lot of experience. He’s so important for us. Today he runs a lot. He had to press so high and then return, and he’s doing that.

“So, I’m really pleased with him. And the other guys need to look at Casemiro.”
