Lennon explains why Jullien will settle quickly at Celtic

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has predicted new signing Christopher Jullien will settle quickly at the club thanks to his British wife.

The defender signed for the club last week in a £7 million deal (BBC Sport) and is the Hoops’ first signing of the summer.

Jullien will be keen to prove himself quickly to the Celtic faithful, and it’ll be important for him to get comfortable as soon as possible.

And Lennon reckons, Jullien’s partner will aid with the settling in process. He suggested (quoted by BBC Sport): “The fact that his wife’s British will help him come and settle into a different culture very quickly.

“But, as a player, he has all the attributes we’re looking for. He’s one of those players whose career has progressed forwards all the time.”

Having a British wife is sure to help Jullien as he manages his transition from French to Scottish football.

Cardiff-born Charlotte Jullien has clearly already had a big impact on her husband, with his impressive English shining through during his first interview after signing for the club.

That is something that Jullien has actually acknowledged himself. He said (quoted by The Daily Record): “My English is good, I learned a little bit in school and also from my wife, who is Welsh. We’ve been together nine years.”

It would seem Jullien is all set to give his all for Celtic, and fans will be excited to see the colossus in action for the first time.

There’s a chance that will be as soon as tomorrow with the Bhoys taking on FC St. Gallen in a friendly match.
