‘He’s back’: Celtic fans react as Leigh Griffiths makes goalscoring return to action

Celtic opened up their preparations for the 2019/20 campaign with a resounding 6-1 win over Austrian minnows SC Pinkafeld.

Neil Lennon will take his team in search of an illustrious quadruple treble next season.

The Hoops have completely obliterated Scottish football during the last three campaigns.

The boss will aim to continue an era of total dominance for the club, whilst also improve fortunes in Europe during 2019/20.

One returning member of the Celtic squad could prove to be like a new signing for Lennon next season.

Leigh Griffiths hasn’t played since December after taking some time out to deal with some personal issues.

The 28-year-old has returned to pre-season, however, and was handed a start in the first friendly of the non-competitive campaign.

Griffiths has been sensational for the Hoops since signing from Wolves in 2014.

In 203 appearances for the club, he has bagged 104 goals and registered 45 assists.

Celtic fans were certainly delighted to see their talisman back in action yesterday and the goal he claimed delighted them even more.
