Leicester City are ready to take a major hit on the transfer fee they paid for striker Islam Slimani this summer, according to the Daily Star.
The report claims that the Foxes spent £30m on the Algerian hitman to get him from Sporting in 2016, and are prepared to lose £20m on that investment when they finally offload him this summer.
Sporting and Turkish outfit Besiktas are named in the report as the two clubs interested in the hitman who Spotrac claim earns £80,000 per week at the King Power Stadium.
Even the arrival of Brendan Rodgers at Leicester does not look to be enough to hand Slimani a second chance as the Northern Irishman said: “I have my own ideas. It’s obviously been a difficult one for him. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out for a club.”

Clubs are always on the lookout for a goal-getter but as soon as player’s stock drops, it’s difficult to get it to rise again, especially without him playing.
If Leicester won’t put Slimani in the shop window and are openly willing to offload him at a huge financial loss, they can’t expect much – even getting £10m for the striker would be a struggle after the way his form has plummeted.
