Leicester City are keen to bring free agent Daniel Sturridge to the King Power Stadium this summer, according to TeamTalk.
Sturridge has been released by Liverpool following their Champions League win on Saturday and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp called him a ‘modern-day Liverpool great’, according to BBC.
But it was current Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers who actually brought the Englishman to Anfield and the Northern Irishman is reportedly keen to engineer a reunion.
Sturridge scored 25 goals across all competitions under Rodgers in the 2013/14 season (Transfermarkt) and it’s clear that he knows how to get the best out of him.

Sturridge obviously won’t command a transfer fee but was on a substantial £130,000 a week contract at Liverpool according to Spotrac.
That could perhaps be Leicester’s only concern around a player who has had his injury problems down the years, but as a backup to Jamie Vardy, Sturridge would be an outstanding option.
He remains a fantastic talent, capable of virtuoso performances and consistent goalscoring at Premier League level and if Rodgers can get him, it could be a masterstroke.
Even if he can get Sturridge close to that blistering 2013/14 form, Leicester will have a very fine player on their hands.
