Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is in line for a new contract offer to ward off interest from Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.
They report that he was Arsenal’s prime target to replace Unai Emery and despite indicating that he would remain at the King Power Stadium, a new contract is being readied.
Rodgers only arrived at Leicester in February but looks set for an improved deal after leading the club to seven straight Premier League victories.
His reputation is on the rise and perhaps Arsenal’s interest has given him increased negotiating power, despite the fact he already apparently earns £5 million per year with the Foxes.

TBR’s View – Best for Rodgers to remain at Leicester even without a new contract
Perhaps Leicester are readying a new deal to reward Rodgers for his loyalty in turning down Arsenal. Perhaps that’s how modern football works.
But he would be best served remaining at the King Power Stadium regardless; Leicester have a talented squad and the structure at the club to move forward to a greater degree than Arsenal do right now.
Leicester are far, far more likely to be a Champions League side next season, while Arsenal have a battle on their hands to cling onto their Europa League status.
