Leicester City have agreed a £45 million deal for Brighton defender Lewis Dunk, according to a report by the Sun.
They report that the Foxes have selected their replacement in the event that Harry Maguire leaves the club this summer and Dunk is all set to be the man through the door if the England international goes.
The Sun report that Maguire is heading for Manchester United in an £80 million deal, but the Daily Telegraph say that the Red Devils haven’t come close to the £75 million valuation yet.
So it remains up in the air whether Dunk will actually be a Leicester player next season – it all revolves around Maguire’s future, in truth.

Plenty will be said about whether Dunk is worth £45 million if the deal does go through, but this is a situation where the specific transfer must be taken outside the context of the market as a whole.
Brighton will know that Leicester need a Maguire replacement – if he goes – and that they’ll have a very substantial amount of money sloshing around because one of the mega-rich Manchester clubs look likeliest to be his new home.
So it’s really a case of negotiating a portion of that huge fee to replace Maguire, and it seems as if the Foxes will have around £30 million left over after selling Maguire and replacing him.
