Leicester interest must prompt Leeds to make €4m Ibai Gomez swoop
Reports in the Spanish media are linking Leeds United and Leicester City with a Spanish winger.
According to Spanish newspaper AS via Sport Witness, Leeds and Leicester are set to bid for Ibai Gomez when the transfer window reopens in January.
Gomez currently plays for Deportivo Alaves in La Liga but could move for as little as €4m.
At that price, Leeds could get themselves a bargain and with Premier League competition, they must act quickly in early January to finalise a deal.
Gomez is a versatile attacking player, comfortable on the wing or up front.
In 15 La Liga games this term, the 29-year-old has scored three goals and picked up two assists so he would be a handful for Championship defenders.

Having made 322 passes, 20 key passes and completed 12 dribbles, as per Who Scored, Gomez has all the credentials needed in a second tier winger.
With Marcelo Bielsa recently reporting that Samu Saiz is absent amid speculation surrounding his future, as reported by Leeds Live, Gomez could be their ready-made replacement.
The twice-capped Basque international is a goal threat from the wide area and he could push Ezgjan Alioski, Jack Harrison, Izzy Brown and Jack Clarke for starting spots.
But with the Foxes also pursuing Gomez, Leeds must ensure they move swiftly to secure his services.
