Leicester fans want to sign Tielemans permanently after impressive Watford display

Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City reign got off to a disappointing start at Vicarage Road yesterday, losing 2-1 late on against Watford.

Troy Deeney put the hosts ahead before Jamie Vardy looked to have put Leicester on course for a draw, only to be denied by a last-minute goal by Andre Gray.

Rodgers will take some time to settle in – which may partially explain his decision to leave Celtic early and take up the reins at the King Power Stadium – and introduced a three-man defence against the Hornets.

It was not especially effective but remains a work in progress. There were impressive performers and Youri Tielemans’ contribution to Vardy’s equaliser did not go unnoticed by the fans.

The Belgian international was an impressive coup for the Foxes on January deadline day and he has settled in exceptionally well since his arrival.

The Leicester fans want to see him signed on permanently and it’s little surprise; he adds class, poise and power to a midfield that has been a little functional in recent seasons.
