Liam Cooper sent a message to Ian Poveda after the winger took to Instagram to express his delight at making his Premier League debut in Leeds United’s win at Sheffield United on Sunday.
Poveda has established himself as a fixture in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans following his arrival in January. He made his Championship debut in the latter stages of last season.

And he has been named on the bench for each of Leeds’s first three games back in the top flight. He was an unused substitute for the defeat to Liverpool and the win over Fulham.
But he did come on at Bramall Lane as Leeds looked for a winner. He looked lively and exciting during his time on the pitch.

He certainly showed no lack of confidence as he also had a couple of ambitious attempts on goal.
And it proved to be a particularly memorable occasion for the wide-man. Jack Harrison’s cross from the other flank was headed home by Patrick Bamford in the latter stages of the contest for the game’s only goal.
Poveda took to social media following the victory. As well as comment on the win, the 20-year-old commented on making his top flight bow.
Here is Poveda’s post…
And amongst those to respond was his captain. Cooper sent a classy message to the prospect, highlighting the team spirit that has proved so crucial to Marcelo Bielsa’s side…
