It is now coming up on a year since Leeds United snapped up Tyler Roberts from West Bromwich Albion. As reported by the Daily Mail at the time, the talented Welsh forward arrived in a £4 million deal after impressing on loan at League One side Walsall.
That report also suggested that Roberts was in line to make his debut in just a few days time v Cardiff City. That did not prove to be the case. In fact, Roberts had to wait until August. A fractured shin bone left him out for the remainder of last season.
By the time he was fighting fit, Leeds were on their third manager of his short tenure at Thorp Arch. The man who signed him, Thomas Christiansen, was gone, as was his replacement Paul Heckingbottom.

Roberts clearly did not have the best of starts at Leeds.
However, nearly 12 months after his move to West Yorkshire, it appears he is set for a key role for the rest of the season.
Roberts has largely been on the periphery of the Leeds first-team in recent weeks. After losing his place back in October he has been patiently biding his time.
But he was excellent against Rotherham in a number 10 role. He helped change the game in the second half and fans were thoroughly impressed with his performance. With Leeds struggling to get their transfer business done, and Izzy Brown and Patrick Bamford struggling with injury, it could be he finally has the chance to show why Leeds splashed out £4 million in the coming months.
