Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani spoke to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio last night and in an interview quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post, it was claimed that he spoke with Zlatan Ibrahimovic about a January move to Elland Road.
The transcribed also mentions that Radrizzani spoke to the brother of PSG forward Edinson Cavani over a deal too; although nothing came to fruition with either player.
Leeds pulling off the signing of such world-class talent as a Championship club would have been pretty much unthinkable.
It does, however, highlight that ambition will be at the top of the order as long as Radrizzani is in place a the top table of the football club.
Zlatan opted to join AC Milan on a one-year deal and during the interview, the Leeds bigwig didn’t rule out returning for the experienced striker in the summer.
Leeds are currently sat top of the Championship and Premier League football beckons for the first time since 2004.
Following news that Radrizzani pursued these players in January, Leeds fans have been in good spirits on Twitter and have taken the comments with a pinch of salt.
Here is a selection of tweets from Leeds fans following their attempts to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani.

Love the idea that Radz spike to Zlatan which shows his ambition and has not ruled out speaking to him again if we get promotion. I do wonder though what Bielsa would do with a 39 year old who obviously wouldnt be chasing back as much. Ibra will score goals everywhere he goes but
