Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has admitted that he had Leeds United “down” at half time against Wolves.

The Whites emerged as winners from a truly dramatic and chaotic Premier League game at Molineux.

Leeds were 2-0 down at half time and looked truly lost as the opening 45 minutes came to an end.

Jonny opened the scoring on 26 minutes and Francisco Trincao netted in the 11th minute of injury time.

However, the Elland Road outfit halved the deficit in the 63rd minute through Jack Harrison.

The 25-year-old scored on the rebound after Luke Ayling threatened the Molineux goal.

Just four minutes later, Leeds drew level as Rodrigo Moreno pounced on a loose ball after a Romain Saiss error.

And in injury time, the impressive Ayling slammed home following more chaotic scenes in the Wolves box.

Scoreline and goalmouth action aside, the game also saw other flashpoints.

There were multiple injury-enforced substitutions and a red card for Raul Jimenez.

But for the second matchday in a row, Leeds triumphed thanks to an injury-time winner.

And Neville couldn’t believe his eyes.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, he revealed (18/3/22, 22:08): “I had them down at half time!

“That is absolutely incredible! That’s a massive, massive night for Leeds.

“That 45 minutes, the impact it will have on those players…

“Football can surprise us, shock us. What a night for Leeds.”

The result sees Leeds go seven points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

It was never going to be plain sailing, but the Whites look like they’re on the right path to survive in the top flight.
