Leeds United will not feel overly aggrieved at Florian Jozefzoon disappointment

This summer Leeds United had a fairly successful transfer window. The players they did manage to sign were all carefully considered and do not look out of place in a promotion chasing Championship team.

But one player they did miss out on Dutch winger Florian Jozefzoon. Leeds wanted to bring the player in from Brentford in the summer. According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the West Yorkshire side were willing to pay a fee in the region of £3 million to bring the 27-year-old to Elland Road.

However, they failed in their pursuit. Instead, Derby County managed to bring him in. However, Leeds will not feel like they have missed out too much.

Jozefzoon has hardly taken Frank Lampard’s team by storm. He has just one goal for the club and has struggled to establish himself as a first-team starter with the Rams.

Leeds would no doubt have liked to bring the Dutchman to the club. However, it is hard to see that he would have been a regular at the club. Leeds have decent options in his position, including the likes of youngsters Jamie Shackleton and Jack Clarke.

Leeds will hope the youngsters in their squad can grab their opportunities as the West Yorkshire side remain £3 million up.
