Mason Holgate has joined West Bromwich Albion on loan for the rest of the season. The Baggies have secured the versatile defender and, according to the Daily Mail, the 22-year-old rejected Leeds United and Bournemouth to do so.
The race to get promoted in the Championship is tight and West Brom have secured a player to help them massively in their bid to make the Premier League.
Leeds will now hope missing out does not cost them. Holgate is actually a former Leeds player. As reported in the Yorkshire Post, Holgate left Barnsley in 2010 for a brief spell at Leeds. The then 13-year-old swiftly headed back to Oakwell as he did not settle in his new surroundings.

Leeds were, seemingly, hoping to chance their arm at a new reunion with the Yorkshire-born defender.
The club are struggling to keep defenders fit this season and a player to cover at both right-back and centre-back would have been a massive boost for Leeds.
Missing out to a promotion rival could prove a massive blow by the end of the season, if the Baggies can catch Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
