Vinnie Jones played 446 times during a playing career that spanned across 15 years and seven clubs, including Leeds.

The tough-tackling midfielder was one of football’s original hard men but he could play as well.

A spell at Elland Road saw him worshipped by the club’s loyal supporters.

He signed from Wimbledon ahead of the 1989/90 campaign and would lead the Whites to the Second Division title.

Jones played 46 games and scored five goals before switching across Yorkshire to Sheffield United.

His robust style of play saw him take the old Second Division by storm and Leeds fans of a certain age will never forget him.

On 27 July 2017, Jones announced on Twitter that he was taking a break from the social media platform, saying:

Yesterday, Jones made his long-awaited return and in doing so he delighted supporters of Leeds.

Now a Hollywood film star Jones tweeted a message for Leeds supporters alongside an old photo of him strutting his stuff in a famous yellow away kit:

The tweet naturally delighted those of a Leeds persuasion and they were quick to respond to their former player.

The star of Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and X-Men clearly still holds the Whites in high regard.
