Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell made his international debut for Northern Ireland last night. The young Whites stopper featured as Michael O’Neill’s side lost 2-1 to Bosnia-Herzegovina in Belfast.

It would have been a proud moment for the keeper. However, his performance left plenty to be desired. A mix-up at the back cost Northern Ireland the game and plenty of fans were critical of his display.

So is it time Leeds called upon Jamal Blackman?

Signed on loan from Chelsea this summer, the six foot five inches tall stopper was expected to become number one. After impressing on loan at Sheffield United last season, the credentials were certainly present.

But Peacock-Farrell has maintained the number one role.

Some Leeds fans doubt the ability of their young stopper, who is certainly prone to an error.

This could now be the perfect time for Leeds to give Blackman the gloves for a while. Peacock-Farrell is a talented young keeper, but Blackman’s greater weight of experience must make him a better option between the sticks.

Off the back of the international break, there is a perfect chance to address what might be Leeds’ weak link this season. Leeds must take that opportunity.
