Ben White has posted on Instagram after making his Premier League debut in the colous of Brighton during a 3-1 loss to Chelsea, following his return from a loan spell at Leeds United – and three Whites players have commented.
White, 22, spent last season on loan at Leeds as the Whites gained promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years. He played every single match of the 2019-20 campaign for Leeds, clocking up 49 appearances in all competitions.
He earned a place in the PFA Team of the Year and reports claimed Leeds made three offers to sign him permanently, only for Brighton to reject all three and eventually sign a new contract with the Seagulls.
It saw White makes his debut for Potter’s side on Monday night as Chelsea earned a 3-1 win over Brighton at the Amex, with goals coming from Jorginho, Kurt Zouma and Reece James – cancelling out Leandro Trossard’s equaliser.
White lasted 76 minutes in what was only his third senior appearance for Brighton throughout his senior career – and impressed in glimpses despite coming up against the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and plenty more attacking stars.
He posted a one-word message on Instagram entitled “debut”, and three Leeds players reacted to his post. Pascal Struijk labelled his performance as “easy”, while Tyler Roberts and Kalvin Phillips also reacted.
