Leeds United transfer news: Harte on Clarke, £2.5m bid for James and Ze Luis too expensive

A selection of the latest news and gossip from Leeds United.

Take Harte in this

Manchester United are the latest club linked with an interest in Jack Clarke. However, Leeds fans can begin to rest easy on the matter.

His agent is Ian Harte, the former Leeds United left-back who represents some of the club’s younger talents.

He confirmed on Twitter that Clarke will be present when Leeds face Norwich in a crunch fixture at the start of February.  The Irishman stated he ‘doesn’t understand’ why anyone would think otherwise.

James opener

Leeds United are ready to make an opening bid for Daniel James. The Swansea City star has emerged as the club’s first-choice target for January.

TEAMtalk is reporting that the initial offer will likely be in the region of £2.5 million for a player whose contract expires in 18 months.

Swansea want a fee closer to £5 million for the player.

Ze Luis link

Leeds United are reportedly interested in Spartak Moscow attacker Ze Luis. According to Championat the Whites have lodged a £10.5 million bid for the player.

TEAMtalk have now suggested that Leeds could be interested in the Cape Verde international. However, the fee involved would have to be a lot less than the one currently being reported.
