Leeds United have confirmed on their official website that midfielder Bobby Kamwa has agreed a new contract with the Championship side, as his previous deal expired on Tuesday – and Leeds fans have responded on Twitter.

Kamwa, 20, has endured multiple injury problems during his development and progression into Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side. However, the Cameroon-born starlet finally began to show his quality before the health crisis struck.

Indeed, Kamwa netted three goals in five appearances for the club’s Under-23 side in the Premier League Cup and Professional Development League. However, his contract was due to expire on Tuesday.

Now, Leeds have confirmed that Kamwa has penned a two-year deal at the club and will now be looking to rid himself of his injury concerns and break into the senior side in months to come.

Leeds have plenty of options in the final third but what Kamwa brings to the table is versatility. The powerful youngster can play up front, in attacking midfield or even as a central midfielder.

Leeds supporters reacted to the news that Kamwa had ended doubts over his future by agreeing a new contract until the summer of 2022, and many are delighted to see the youngster remain at Elland Road.
