'I do not regret it': Victor Orta signing insists he's delighted he joined Leeds
Victor Orta brought Italian wonderkid Willy Gnonto to Leeds United during the summer transfer window. Now, the player has been discussing his decision to join the Premier League club.
Leeds have been patient with the eight-time Italy international. He’s made three appearances for the senior ranks, starting once in the Premier League.
Big things are expected of Gnonto at Elland Road. He signed for the club during the summer in a deal worth £3.8 million from Swiss outfit FC Zurich.
The youngster has been on the books of Inter Milan during his career. Now, he will hope to continue making an impact with Leeds in the Premier League.
With the World Cup in full flow, Gnonto has been discussing his first few months at Leeds. He doesn’t have any regrets over his decision and appears excited about the future.
He told the club’s official website: “I was sure when I chose to come to Leeds and I do not regret it. For me, I think this was the best choice for me and for my family, so I just want to show it on the pitch.”
Orta brought Gnonto and he could thrive at Leeds
The youngster looks like a quality addition to the Leeds ranks. He’s already a full international and fans must be excited to see more of him.
Gnonto is only 19-years-old and he could star under Jesse Marsch. The beauty of the Italian is that he can play anywhere in the final third.
Leeds won two of their last three games prior to the World Cup. They now have ambitions to climb the league table after a mediocre start.
Gnonto looks like a very useful signing by Orta. He has hit the jackpot with several signings since arriving at Leeds and this looks like being another.
The Leeds newcomer possesses raw pace and trickery. As a result, it will be exciting to see how he develops at Elland Road.
