Leeds United star Stuart Dallas has admitted to LUTV that he was a Liverpool fan growing up, as he picked Steven Gerrard in his Fantasy 7-a-side team – along with Liam Cooper and Stewart Downing.
Dallas, 28, has been one of Leeds’ most consistent performers this season despite playing on the right side of the defence even though he is naturally a winger and left-footed. It saw Dallas earn a new contract at Elland Road in September.
The Northern Ireland international was asked to give his Fantasy 7-a-side team. Liam Cooper was picked as the best he plays with, Aaron Hughes as his best teammate throughout his entire career, and Joshua Kimmich as the best player in his position.
Stewart Downing was picked with the same name, Mesut Ozil as the best player he has faced, and Mark Viduka as Leeds’ best. Gerrard was also chosen, as a player Dallas grew up watching – before admitting he supported Liverpool.
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this but I grew up supporting Liverpool,” Dallas said. “I loved to watch Gerrard and Robbie Fowler as well.”
Dallas is a number of in-form players to have won a new deal at Elland Road, along with skipper Cooper, Luke Ayling and Kalvin Phillips. A number of Under-23 and Under-18 players have also been given new deals.
Matuesz Klich is expected to be next in line to put pen to paper, as Leeds prepare to face Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon at Elland Road. Dallas is expected to clock up his 158th outing for Leeds, since joining for £1.3m (Sky Sports) in 2015.
