Leeds United’s loss to Nottingham Forest yesterday means they have now lost two games in a row in the Championship for the first time this season. It appears, that the recent comeback wins against Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers papered over the cracks slightly.
Yesterday was a tough one to take. After going down to 10-men after Kalvin Phillips’ rash challenge, Leeds fought back valiantly to take a 2-1 lead.
But they could not hold on with a makeshift defence and lost 4-2.
Adam Forshaw came in for plenty of stick for his display on Twitter. The midfielder was shocking throughout the game and made a number of errors.
But Bailey Peacock-Farrell again had a poor game.
The first goal came from a poor back-pass from Forshaw. However, Peacock-Farrell should have been further off his line and Jack Colback did not look comfortable one-on-one. The Northern Irishman had a great opportunity to slide out and take the ball but failed to do so.
Others also felt he could have done better with Daryl Murphy’s headed goal.
The fact is, Leeds need a new goalkeeper. It is the first deal they should make happen at Elland Road this January window.
Karl Darlow has been mentioned and at a price of £4 million. If that is a genuine option, then Leeds need to make it happen as soon as possible.
