Leeds United round-up: Zuber wanted, Ekuban happy and Wilks ‘unplayable’

A selection of the latest news and gossip from Leeds United.

Swiss international linked

Leeds United are reportedly keen on signing Swiss international midfielder Steven Zuber. A report from German publication Bild has suggested that the Hoffenheim winger is being considered as an option for the club this month.

He has struggled to hold down a regular starting place with the German side this season and Leeds are hoping to take advantage of that fact with a swoop for his services.

Zuber has played three times in the Champions League this season and scored a memorable goal against Brazil at last summer’s World Cup.

Ekuban happy

Caleb Ekuban has been discussing his loan exit from Leeds United in the summer. The Ghanaian-Italian striker has made it clear that he feels he made the ‘correct’ decision joining Trabzonspor on loan.

The striker struggled for form and fitness during his spell at Elland Road and he says it has proven to be ‘a really good’ move since joining the Turkish side.

Wilks unplayable

Grant McCann has been discussing the form of Leeds loanee Mallik Wilks. The Doncaster Rovers boss is very pleased to have him secured for the rest of the season after the youngster signed a new deal at Leeds.

Speaking to the Doncaster Free Press, he called his most recent performance ‘unplayable’ and said he ’deserved’ his new contract at Leeds.
