‘It doesn’t work’
Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has called for the formation of a ‘Premier League 2’ to form instead of the Championship.
His argument stems down to TV rights, something Leeds feel they have been treated unfairly over for several seasons.
The bottom club in the Premier League receives a guaranteed £100 million in Premier League TV rights, whereas Leeds earned just £7.5 million in 2017 under the EFL deal.
The Italian stated the current system ‘doesn’t work’.

Jansson gets a letter
Pontus Jansson could face action from the FA this week. The Swedish star received a notice from the FA earlier this week asking to explain his post-match comments from the Brentford game at the weekend.
Leeds drew 1-1, with Jansson scoring the equaliser, after a suspected dive from Marley Watkins had earned Brentford a penalty.
He described the referee’s performance as ‘a robbery’ after the game. The YEP reports that Jansson has replied to the letter and is awaiting a response.
The defender is currently with his wife, who is expecting the birth of their first child.
Vieira trial
Leeds United released Romario Vieira this summer, after deciding the Guinea-Bissau midfielder was not good enough to make it at Elland Road.
The international is still looking for a new club, after an unsuccessful trial stint at Doncaster Rovers.
However, he remains in Yorkshire and is currently on an extended trial at Bradford City.
