Leeds United round-up: Jansson wants Leeds stay, Clarke rejected City and Kewell’s ‘love’

A selection of the latest news and gossip from Leeds United.

Jansson commits

Pontus Jansson has shared his best moment as a Leeds United player. He says it is the goal he scored v Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, in a video sent to the Leeds Twitter account.

He called the goal a ‘special moment’.

But it was what he went on to say that really had Leeds fans excited. He stated that he hopes he can ‘stay in this club for more years’, seemingly committing his future to Leeds.

Jansson, who played 90 minutes for Sweden against Slovakia yesterday, will hope to repeat the trick against Blackburn this weekend.

Clarke rejection

It has been unveiled that Leeds’ latest young debutant Jack Clarke rejected Manchester City.

The Mirror reports that Clarke rejected interest from the Premier League champions when signing his first professional deal at Leeds last November.

Clarke made an impressive debut against Brentford before the international break.

Kewell’s love story

Harry Kewell has been speaking about his education in the Leeds United academy. The now Notts County manager was speaking to the Nottingham Post this week.

He claimed that seeing Elland Road from training at Fullerton Park gave him a ‘greater desire’ to be a footballer and made him fall ‘in love with the game.’

The Australian unfortunately ruined his relationship and reputation with the Leeds fans by joining Galatasaray.
